Letter From a Praying Grandma

For Anyone Who Wants to Pray For Their Family

Dear Grandmas, Moms, Sisters, Aunts, and Friends,

I have prayed for my family using scriptures and promises from the bible for over 30 years, and have compiled these prayers so you can pray them too.

Years ago, when members of my family had problems and concerns, I would worry, feel anxious, and sometimes feel helpless. Then I learned that there was something I could do to help. I could pray God's Word and God would work in the situation. For every problem, God has an answer or a promise in His word. So, every time there was a problem, I would find God’s answer or promise in the bible. Then I began focusing less on the problem, and began praying and thanking God for His promise and answer.

God has done many, many wonderful things for my family in answer to praying His word. God miraculously protected my granddaughter and saved her life. God delivered my teenage granddaughter from drug abuse. He healed my 5 month old grandson of cancer. God is so good! I am still waiting for some answers, but I know that God is always working.(1) God’s thoughts and ways are higher than my ways.(2) His timing is perfect.(3)  And He promises to work all things together for good for those who love Him.(4) I am so thankful and grateful to God for continuing to hear and answer my prayers. Dear friend, He will answer your prayers too!

Let’s come together and pray for our families. Let’s pray prayers from the bible, the Word of God. We know that we’re praying according to God’s will when we pray His word. The bible says that God watches over His word to perform it.(5) Jesus said that if we believe in Him, whatever we ask in His Name, He will do it.(6)

Let’s believe! Let’s ask! Let’s pray!

The bible says that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.(7) Who is a righteous person in God’s eyes? One who has believed and received God’s Son, Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. The Bible said that God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.(8) The Good News is that God is Love. God loves us very much. He loves us with an everlasting love.(9) But God is perfect and holy and we are not, so our sin has separated us from Him. The bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.(10) But God loved us so much that He gave His perfect Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and take the penalty for our sins, making a way back to Him. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.(11) Then God raised Jesus from the dead to live forever.(12) Jesus offers this gift of eternal, everlasting life to all who believe and receive Him as their Savior. (13) The bible says that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.(14)

Pray this prayer:
God in heaven, I know that I am separated from You because of my sins and I need a savior. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and I believe He died for my sins and You raised Him from the dead. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart and be my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me now. Amen

If you prayed that prayer from your heart just now; or if you’ve prayed a prayer like that in the past, you are a new creation. You are born again into God’s family and He is your Heavenly Father. He is a loving Father and we can come confidently to Him as His children.(15)

Let’s do that now and pray for our families!
